Ignore the Shimp???

Did someone place a link in a social media comment?

Why did they do that?

Because at Fish & Bear, we have this wonderful rule:

Rule #3 Ignore the Shrimp

Lynn f***king hates shrimp.

She hates all kinds of shrimp: fried, battered, live, boiled, photographed, and even cartoon shrimp.

BUT when Lynn goes to a restaurant and sees shrimp on the menu, she doesn’t storm out. She merely turns the page and looks for chicken.

These days, there’s a lot of pressure to go looking for shrimp, and then as soon as we see it, figuratively storm out of the restaurant by arguing, dismissing, and blocking anything remotely shrimpy from our feeds and our lives.

BUT often the people least like us will have knowledge and experience we will miss out on if we cannot ignore their shrimpiness.

So the best thing we can do is effectively ignore the shrimp and look for the chicken.

This way, we won’t create a shrimp-free echo chamber of delusion, and we won’t needlessly increase the profits of social media apps through the time we spend looking at their adverts, fueled by our anger and resentment toward the shrimp.
